Study of Coronary Ostia in North Karnataka Region

Abstract
Aim: To know the variations in coronary ostia.
Material and methods: Sixty heart specimens obtained from cadavers were studied for variations in the coronary ostia. In this study many parameters were included like, number of ostia, position with respect to sinutubular ridge, whether centrally or peripherally located, the distance from sinutubular junction.
Results: Many variations were observed, which are very important during coronary artery procedures. In 3.33% of cases, 3 coronary ostia were seen. In 8.33% of cases, coronary ostia were found above the sinutubular junction.
