Abstract
Free-floating thrombus of carotid artery is very rare condition with high risk of embolic cerebrovascular events. The natural history and optimal treatment options are unknown. Here we report a 47 years old female patient who had transient ischemic attack and diagnosed with free-floating thrombus in common carotid artery. Carotid endarterectomy and patchplasty was performed. Recovery was uneventful and the patient was discharged symptom-free with warfarin and antiplatelet therapy.
