Hoarseness of voice: Etiological spectrum

Gaurav Kataria 1, Aditi Saxena 2, Baldev Singh 3, Sanjeev Bhagat 3, Ravinder Singh 3.

Abstract
Hoarseness of voice is a symptom, not a diag-
nosis and therefore warrants a careful determi-
nation of the underlying cause in every case.
The etiology of hoarseness ranges from trivial
infections to life threatening malignancies. This
study was done to analyze clinical profile of
hoarseness, to find out common etiological fac-
tors and association of common predisposing
factors leading to hoarseness.

Key words: Hoarseness of voice, etiology, vocal fold pathologies
