Abstract
Introduction: The study of basic medical sciences is the key to approach clinical sciences as competent doctors. The present day
undergraduate medical curriculum calls for constant reinforcement of teaching skills. A quiz based exercise is one such step in the
direction. The objective of this study was to assess whether a quiz based program in Pharmacology is a potentially interactive non
conventional teaching aid to encourage learning among medical students. Methods: A quiz was organised for which the topics were
declared prior to the event. Second professional MBBS students participated in the preliminary screening round. Qualified students
participated in the quiz as eight teams which competed for Quarterfinal, Semi-final, Final and the Extempore to become the winner. The
students were also asked to answer the pretested feedback questionnaire. Results: The positive impact of the quiz leads to the
