OPTIMAL CONDITIONS FOR PRODUCTION OF L-ASPARAGINASE FROM ASPERGILLUS TAMARII

Mohamed Y. Bedaiwy, Omyma A. Awadalla, Alaa M. Abou-Zeid, Hala T. Hamada.

Abstract
Twenty-five filamentous fungal isolates obtained from soil samples from different regions, were identified and screened for their ability to produce L-asparaginase. Aspergillus tamarii showed the highest activity of L-asparaginase so selected to study the optimal conditions for the maximum production of L-asparaginase. The selected fungus exhibited significant variations in the production of L-asparaginase under the influence of incubation period, temperature, pH, carbon sources, and nitrogen sources.

Key words: Aspergillus tamarii, L-asparaginase, Optimization
