Abstract
Millions of world populations suffer from sexual drive dysfunction in their life. Despite the increasing availability of effective conventional medical treatments, alternative medicine, especially plant-derived and herbal remedies, continue to provide a popular alternative for men and women seeking to improve their sex life. Nevertheless, the efficacy of most herbal agents in treating sexual problems remains uncertain. Here, the author perform an in vitro test to study the effect of three herbs, which are widely used due to the belief that they can promote good sexual activity: Panax Ginseng, Ficus fovealata Wall., and Elephantopus scaber Linn. We found that the spermatic count and motility rate in the Ficus fovealata Wall., and Elephantopus scaber Linn. - added samples were lower than controls but the Ginseng – added were higher than the control.
