EVALUATION OF ENDOMETRIAL ASPIRATION CYTOLOGY IN DIAGNOSIS OF NORMAL & ABNORMAL ENDOMETRIUM AND ITS CORRELATION WITH HISTOPATHOLOGY

Abstract
The study titled evaluation of endometrial aspiration cytology in diagnosis of normal and abnormal endometrium and its correlation with histopathology done on 63 cases at peoples college of medical sciences & research centre. Cytodiagnosis was confirmed later by d & c and hysterectomy specimen. There was no false positive case diagnosed but single case of false negative was diagnosed. The sensitivity of eac was 92.8% & specificity was 100%. The positive predictive value was 97.5% so it keeps endometrial aspiration a reliable diagnostic modality. Endometrial aspiration is rapid, easy and non-invasive, autpatient procedure and can be applied in all type of age groups.
