Psychosocial Risk Factors & Admission/Readmissions in End Stage Renal Disease Patients

In 61 hospitalized ESRD patients, a history of Substance Abuse was the strongest predictor of early (30 Day) readmission. Longer
term admission risk may be associated with cognitive impairment. Health Literacy was unrelated to either early or past-year admission.
